Gersom Zomer

Gersom Zomer is a GIS Developer with extensive experience across various organizations, currently working at Alliander since August 2022, focusing on the maintenance and development of web GIS applications and support for portal users. Previously, Zomer held a Software Engineer position at Ordina, contributing to GIS projects for ProRail and the Province of Noord-Holland. Zomer has also worked as a GIS-specialist at Arcadis, where responsibilities included GIS calculations, digitalization consulting, and community support. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Geographical Information Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Forest Ecology and Management, both from Wageningen University & Research. Additionally, early career experience includes a Teaching Assistant role at Wageningen University and an internship developing a web-based energy transition planning tool.
