Richard Megley

Richard Megley currently serves as Chief Patent Counsel at Allstate, a position held since May 2022. Prior to this role, Richard co-founded Lee Sheikh Megley & Haan, where responsibilities included guiding clients through complex intellectual property legal matters from March 2015 to April 2022. Richard's extensive litigation experience began at Niro, Haller & Niro as a shareholder from January 2001 to March 2015, following an associate role at Niro Scavone Haller & Niro from July 1996 to December 2000. Earlier in Richard's career, an associate and law clerk role at Morris & Stella involved defending cases in product liability and commercial disputes from August 1991 to June 1996. The career commenced as a sales engineer at Eaton Corporation, focusing on designing electrical control systems from January 1990 to July 1991. Richard earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from DePaul University College of Law and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
