Alessio Scarsella has held various roles in the industrial sector. Alessio began their career as a Research Officer at CRC for Clean Power from Lignite in 2003 and later worked as a Process Engineer at Queensland Alumina Limited from 2006 to 2008. Alessio then assumed the role of Senior Project Leader at the same company from 2008 to 2010. Alessio then joined Outotec in 2010 as a Senior Process Engineer and eventually became the Head of Refinery from 2012 to 2015. From 2015 to 2020, they served as the Vice President Alumina at Outotec. In 2020, they transitioned to Metso Outotec as the Director Light Metals until 2023. Currently, Alessio Scarsella is the Chief Operations Officer at Almatis since 2023.
Alessio Scarsella completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering at the University of Adelaide from 2000 to 2002. Alessio then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering at the same institution from 2003 to 2006. In 2007, they attended Deakin University to obtain their Master of Business Administration (MBA). Alessio also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemistry from the University of South Australia, where they studied from 1999 to 2000. In 2017, Alessio attended the IMD for a Senior leadership program in Business Administration and Management.
