Dan Whitnable has a strong background in various roles, including Developer Relations and Solution Design. Dan started their career in 1994 at Lands' End as an Engineering Manager, where they managed capital budgets and oversaw DC storage and shipping processes. From 2013 to 2016, they served as the VP of Engineering, Operations, and Product Development at Hilmot. Dan then joined Fortna in 2016 as the Director of Solution Design until 2019. Following that, they worked at Quantopian as a Developer Relations professional from 2019 to 2020. Currently, they are involved in a similar role as a Developer Relations representative at Alpaca starting in 2020.

Dan Whitnable attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1977 to 1980, where they studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Following that, they pursued Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering at the University of Southern California from 1982 to 1983. In addition to their formal education, they obtained several certifications from Lynda.com, such as "Communicating with Confidence," "Giving Your Elevator Pitch," "AutoCAD 2017 Essential Training," "Change Management Foundations," "Communication Foundations (2013)," "Getting Things Done," "Managing Your Time," "Project Management Foundations: Stakeholders," and "Time Management Fundamentals" in various months and years from 2018-2019.
