Seth Porter

Seth Porter, CSP, has extensive experience in safety management and compliance within the mining industry, currently serving as a Safety Representative and Mine Rescue team member at Alpha Metallurgical Resources since June 2018. Prior roles include Compliance Manager and Assistant Safety Manager at Blackhawk Mining, where responsibilities encompassed accident investigation and safety specialist duties. Seth's career began at Alpha Natural Resources, undertaking various safety representative roles and developing standard safety policies and procedures. Notably, Seth also worked as a Program Planning Analyst for the West Virginia Division of Highways. Education includes a Bachelor of Science and two Master of Science degrees, one with an emphasis in Mine Safety and the other in Environmental Science, all obtained from Marshall University.
