John Ronkainen

John Ronkainen is an accomplished Applications Engineer at Altec, where responsibilities include producing custom electrical and hydraulic system designs for aerial lift trucks and serving as a liaison between sales and production. Prior to this role, John served as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Kentucky, aiding in the First Year Engineering program. John gained practical engineering experience through co-op positions at GE Appliances, contributing to design engineering in both Refrigeration and Cooking & Range Technology. Academic achievements include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky, which followed an Associate degree in Pre-Engineering from Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. Additional experiences include a participant in the University of Louisville IMPACT REU Program, a sole proprietor of a lawn care business, and a grounds maintenance laborer at The Elizabethtown Sports Park.
