Nikolay Burnaevskiy

Nikolay Burnaevskiy is a scholar at the Altius Institute for Biomedical Sciences since January 2022, with prior experience as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Washington from October 2014 to December 2021, focusing on gene expression related to stress response. Before that, Nikolay served as a graduate research assistant at UT Southwestern Medical Center from September 2009 to October 2014, where research centered on the biochemical activity of the Shigella flexneri virulence factor IpaJ. Additional experience includes work as a visiting researcher and a junior researcher, with significant contributions in the analysis of immune cell activation and the differentiation potential of mesenchymal stem cells, respectively. Nikolay's academic background includes a PhD in Cell Regulation from UT Southwestern Medical Center and a Master's degree in Molecular Biophysics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. Prior to a research career, Nikolay taught physics and computer science at Юниум - Unium between September 2004 and July 2006.
