Altria
Murray Garnick serves as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Altria Group. In his role, he leads the company's Law department and the Corporate Secretary's office, Regulatory Affairs and Regulatory Sciences. He has held this position since 2017.
He previously served as Deputy General Counsel for Altria Client Services (ALCS), which provides professional services and support to Altria Group and its operating companies. At Altria, Murray has led the legal support for sales, marketing, regulation, and product development and intellectual property matters. He has also supervised the management of tobacco, health and other litigation brought against Altria Group and its operating companies throughout the country.
In 2008, Murray joined ALCS as Senior Vice President, Litigation and Associate General Counsel. He brings extensive knowledge of Altria Group and its litigation issues as the result of representing the company and its subsidiaries for more than two decades as a senior partner at the law firm of Arnold & Porter in Washington, D.C.
While at the firm, Murray represented the company in a broad range of litigation, specializing in product liability and consumer protection litigation with an emphasis on appellate litigation
Murray currently serves on the Board of the Newseum in Washington, D.C.
