Elaine Reguera, PhD, is a Scientist 2 at AmacaThera, where responsibilities include designing preclinical studies for various cancer models and evaluating hydrogel-based drug delivery systems. Previously, Elaine served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University Health Network, focusing on humanized mouse models to assess the human gut microbiota's role in cancer therapy and organ transplant rejection. Elaine earned a PhD in Cancer Research from the University of Toronto, after completing a Master's in Biochemistry and a Bachelor's in Biochemistry at the University of Havana. Additional experience includes work as a Technologist in nanobiotechnology at IMRE and as a Biochemistry Teaching Instructor at the University of Havana. Elaine has also held mentoring roles for graduate and undergraduate students.
