Ding-Kai Chen has a diverse work experience history. Ding-Kai started their career in 1994 at Silicon Graphics Inc (SGI) where they worked as an MTS until 1997. Ding-Kai then joined Hewlett-Packard (HP) as an MTS and stayed there until 1999. After that, Ding-Kai worked at Tensilica Inc. as a Principal Engineer for their Compiler team for 14 years. In 2013, they moved on to Cadence Design Systems where they served as a Design Engineering Architect -- Compiler until 2015. Lastly, they joined Ambarella in 2015 as a Principal Software Engineer, and currently, their role continues there.

Ding-Kai Chen obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University, from 1981 to 1985. Ding-Kai then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, from 1987 to 1994.
