Previously, Lasmaydha worked at MMG Group as Manager Mine Transition and held the position of Vice President of Safety Health Environment at MMG Minera Las Bambas. Lasmaydha's career includes roles at ERM Indonesia, PT Freeport Indonesia, and BHP Billiton, where responsibilities encompassed business development, local development, sustainability, and stakeholder relations. Lasmaydha holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in International Relations and Affairs from Deakin University.

Ambatovy is a major industrial operation mining and refining nickel and cobalt in Madagascar.
