Lavarn Gordon

LaVarn Gordon has extensive experience in higher education and church leadership. Currently serving as Program Manager and Student and Alumni Affairs Liaison at American Public University System since May 2017, LaVarn provides support to the alumni student body and assists students with Federal Student Aid as a Financial Aid Advisor. In addition, LaVarn is the Senior Pastor of a new church plant in Winchester, Virginia, and previously held the position of Worship Pastor at Destination Church from May 2017 to July 2021. Prior experience includes working as a Special Education Instructional Assistant at Boyce Elementary School, where responsibilities included teaching special needs students and supporting educational staff. LaVarn holds a Master of Education in Student Affairs in Higher Education from American Public University, earned in June 2023, and a Bachelor of Science in Religion/Religious Studies from Shenandoah University, awarded in 2008.
