Joel Desouve is an experienced public administration professional currently serving as the Deputy Chief of Staff (Budget, Policy, & Infrastructure) for the New York City Council since January 2022. Previously, Joel held positions such as Director of Policy, Budget, & Infrastructure, and Special Assistant to City Council Member Rita Joseph. Joel also serves as President of the American Society for Public Administration and is a Personal Development Mentor with Executives on Campus at Baruch College. In addition, Joel contributes as an Advisory Board Member to MIRR Alliance and Gallery Particulier, and has experience as a Research Assistant and Public Policy Intern focused on urban sustainability and environmental justice. Academic qualifications include a Master of Public Administration from Baruch College, along with multiple degrees in public affairs and business administration.
