Jessetta Ray

Jessetta Ray currently serves as the Assistant Director of Career and Professional Development at American University since May 2022. Prior experience includes working as a Career Counselor at the Department of Military Affairs Commonwealth Challenge Youth Academy from December 2021 to April 2022, and a Family Service Specialist at the Newport News Department of Human Services from January 2016 to January 2019. Jessetta also held the position of Independent Living Coordinator at Portsmouth Department of Social Services from August 2014 to October 2015 and worked as a Family Service Specialist at the same department from June 2013 to October 2015. Jessetta holds a Doctor's Degree in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration from Liberty University (2023), a Master of Science in Adult and Continuing Education and Teaching from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (2011), and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the same institution (2008).
