Maida Ives

Maida Ives serves as the Associate Director of Community Partnership and Civic Engagement at Amherst College since January 2017, and also manages Farm Operations and Education at Book & Plow Farm. Prior experience includes roles as a Farmer at Potomac Vegetable Farms from April 2014 to May 2024, Assistant Farm Manager at Book and Plow Farm from March 2015 to December 2016, and Farmer positions at Moutoux Orchard and Mountain View Farm. Maida Ives began a career in education as a Math Teacher for the NYC Department of Education from September 2009 to June 2011. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Mathematics Teacher Education from Brooklyn College (2008-2012) and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Bard College (2004-2008), augmented by a second Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and Economics from Bard College.
