Stefan M. Bradley

Stefan M. Bradley is a distinguished academic currently serving as the Charles Hamilton Houston '15 Professor of Black Studies and History at Amherst College since August 2021, where Stefan M. also holds the positions of Professor and Visiting Professor of Black Studies and History. Prior to this role, Bradley was the BCLA Associate Dean of DEI and Professor of African American Studies at Loyola Marymount University for a brief period in 2021, and previously held multiple positions there, including Chair of the Department of African American Studies. From 2008 to 2017, Bradley served as an Associate Professor of History and African American Studies at Saint Louis University, where Stefan M. also directed the African American Studies Program. Bradley began an academic career at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville as an Assistant Professor of History from 2003 to 2008. Academic qualifications include a PhD in 20th Century US History with a focus on the African American Experience from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a Master's degree in the same field from Washington State University, and a Bachelor's degree in History from Gonzaga University.
