James Kim was appointed as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors in October 2009. Mr. Kim served as our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from September 1997 until October 2009. Mr. Kim founded our predecessor, Amkor Electronics, Inc., in 1968 and served as its Chairman from 1970 to April 1998. James Kim is the father of Vice Chairman Susan Kim.
