Principal Platform Hardware Engineer at Ampere

Shao-yu Chen has a diverse work experience in the hardware engineering field. Starting in 2011, they worked at Wistron as an Engineer, where they focused on verifying system acoustic and thermal solutions. Shao-yu then progressed to become a Senior Thermal Engineer, designing and developing thermal solutions for servers, as well as working on system acoustic design and server fan control algorithms. From 2016 to 2018, they served as a Functional Manager at Wistron, where they played a role in realizing server architecture and developing new technologies. In 2018, Shao-yu joined Quanta Computer Inc., where they served as a Technical Manager. In this role, they motivated a team and ensured the completion of thermal and acoustic designs from concept to mass production. Shao-yu also cultivated relationships with internal and external customers. Shao-yu's most recent role is Principal Platform Hardware Engineer at Ampere, where they started in 2021.

Shao-yu Chen obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Environmental Science from National Ilan University between 2002 and 2006. Subsequently, from 2006 to 2008, they pursued a Master of Engineering Science in Electronic Packaging Design, Thermal and Fluid Mechanics Design at National Cheng Kung University.
