Chris Athas has a vast work experience in the legal field. Chris started their career as an Associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP & Affiliates in 2000. After six years, they joined Jones Day where they worked as an Associate until 2009 and then became a Partner from 2010 to 2013. In 2014, Athas joined Amsted Industries as an Assistant General Counsel and later became the Vice President-General Counsel and Secretary in 2017. Founded as American Steel Foundries in 1902 via the combination of eight steel foundries in the East and Midwest, the company changed its name to Amsted Industries in 1962. At one time, Amsted dealt principally with railroad companies, producing a variety of cast-steel components. Today, the company's product lineup ranges from cooling towers and ductile pressure pipe to steel railroad wheels and powdered metal products. Amsted went private via an employee stock ownership buyout in 1986.
