E. Tyna Coles is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in public policy and program management. Currently serving as Principal Analyst at the Homeland Security Institute since November 2010, responsibilities include developing policy and procedures, securing private sector buy-in, researching complex issues, writing white papers, and overseeing a team of 10 junior analysts, primarily for the Department of Homeland Security - Federal Emergency Management Administration. Previously, E. Tyna Coles held the position of Deputy Director at the Department of Labour from 2005 to 2009, overseeing 200 million in grant funds and enhancing state information resources. This role followed a position as Deputy Director for the U.S. Department of Labor, where compliance assistance products for OSHA were managed in collaboration with private sector partners. E. Tyna Coles holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Culver-Stockton College.
