John Flower has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. John currently holds the position of Chief Technology Officer at Ancoris, where they are responsible for ensuring the development of SaaS products on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using best-in-class technology and processes. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Software Engineering at Ancoris and was instrumental in developing and maturing the Agile processes at DataSift as a Program Manager.
In addition, John has also worked as a Software Development Manager at Hitachi Data Systems, leading a cross-functional team in the development of protocol-level features for enterprise-class Network Attached Storage products. John gained experience in managing the software applications function at Mirics Semiconductor as a Senior Software Applications Engineer.
John started their career as a Software Engineer at Nokia, where they were involved in the development of the Series 40 software platform for mid-range handsets. John began their career at Samsung, working as a Software Engineer responsible for integrating the original MMI into a new platform for GSM, GPRS, and UMTS handsets.
John also has experience as a Design Engineer at Thales Research, where they worked on a project developing network solutions for military naval applications and gained experience in TCP/IP and Bluetooth protocols.
John Flower earned their MEng degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained certifications such as Certified Scrum Master from the Scrum Alliance in May 2016, Certified LeSS Practitioner from The LeSS Company in January 2016, SAFe Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc. in November 2015, C++ Best Practices and Design Patterns from Learning Tree International in July 2012, Certified UML Professional (Fundamental Level) from OMG in February 2009, Google Cloud Certified Professional - Data Engineer from Google Cloud in July 2018, and Google Cloud Certified Professional - Cloud Architect from Google Cloud Certified in March 2018.
