Ian Ashton has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. In 2008, they served as a SUN Project Undergraduate Research Assistant and later as a Senior Design Project member at the Milwaukee School of Engineering Center for Biomolecular. From 2012 to 2013, Ian worked as a Tooling Engineer at Solo Cup Company. In 2013, they moved to Cree as an Industrial Engineer I, responsible for designing assembly lines, implementing work holding fixtures, and evaluating existing processes for improvements. Ian then advanced to Industrial Engineer II, where they managed resources, wrote capital projects, and optimized assembly lines. Ian joined Emerson Automation Solutions in 2017 as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, and later that year, they became an NPI Industrial Engineer II at Cree. In 2019, Ian became the Small Business Owner of Nighthawk Design Company, LLC. In 2021, they worked as a Manager of Process Development Engineering at Cree Lighting, and in 2022, they started their current role as a Manufacturing Engineer III at Andis Company.
Ian Ashton obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering with a Minor in General Management from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Ian attended the institution from 2007 to 2011.
