Michael Johansen has a diverse and extensive work experience in various industries. Michael started their career in 2000 as an R&D Engineer for Ibsen Microstructures, working on the production of Fiber Bragg Gratings. In 2001, they co-founded Kaleido Technology, a company specializing in optics and glass molding technology. Michael served as the CEO and Co-founder until 2006, receiving financing and investments from venture companies during their tenure.
In 2007, Johansen joined Siemens Wind Power as a Technical Project Manager, responsible for optimizing and operating prototype turbines and components. Michael then took on multiple roles within the company, including Head of Product Lifecycle Management, where they managed strategic partnerships and oversaw the digitalization strategy. Michael also served as the Head of Section for Software & Scada and APAC Head of Engineering Sales & Project Support, focusing on providing engineering services and support in the Asia Pacific region.
From 2009 to 2011, Johansen worked at DONG Energy as the Manager for the "Performance and Monitoring Center" and "WTG Platform and Diagnostics," where they focused on monitoring and improving wind turbine performance. Michael was also a Project Manager, developing innovative solutions for integrating wind power into the energy system.
Most recently, Johansen joined RES in 2023 as the Director of Customer Solutions.
Michael Johansen has a diverse educational background. Michael pursued their Bachelor's degree in Optical telecommunication and Applied Physics at DTU - Technical University of Denmark from 1995 to 2000. Prior to this, they attended Middelfart Gymnasium for three years, where they focused on their mathematical studies as a matematisk student.
After completing their undergraduate studies, Michael furthered their education by enrolling at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1999. Michael pursued a field of study in theoretical physics, although no specific degree was mentioned.
In 2014, Michael took a break from their career to undertake a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at Copenhagen Business School. This Executive MBA program lasted for two years and was completed in 2016, further enhancing their business management skills.
