ANF

ANF is a not-for-profit relief and development organization that provides opportunity to those affected by poverty in Nicaragua. Founded in 1992, ANF's work focuses on six program areas— education, health and nutrition, housing, water and sanitation, agriculture, and humanitarian aid—every day and during a crisis. By working with partner organizations, ANF implements over 100 programs throughout Nicaragua each year, working toward the most vulnerable becoming self-sufficient and free of poverty. We believe in subsidiarity: finding local solutions to local problems, where decisions are made by the people closest to and most affected by a community’s problems. In 1997, ANF partnered with Food for the Poor to carry out relief programs in Nicaragua. Since then, Food for the Poor has become our principal strategic partner and main contributor to our work to serve those affected by poverty and lacking access to life’s basic necessities.
