Pay:$18/hour

Schedule: Full Time

  • 40 hours/week
  • Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm

Location: Golden Valley, on-site

The Advancement Services Assistant is responsible for processing donations, supporting donor communication, and assisting with fundraising events.

Essential Functions

Donor Services:

  • Open, sort, and deposit mailed donations and complete all donation data entry according to policy while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Receive and process donations over the phone and in-person.
  • Follow internal controls regarding the handling, depositing, and recording of gifts (cash, check, and credit card) during daily deposit.
  • Comply with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCIDSS) when handling credit card information.
  • Adhere to security and confidentiality protocol when handling donations and donor information.
  • Maintain up-to-date donor records.
  • Assist with special events as assigned and provide backup to Advancement team members.

Communication and Culture:

  • Communicate in a positive and professional manner with customers, other employees, and volunteers.
  • Promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion to make AHS a welcoming environment for all.

Technology:

  • Utilize Raisers Edge and other supporting donation platforms and databases for gifts and data management.
  • Utilize desktop check deposit software and credit card processors ensuring accuracy of data entry and processing.
  • Utilize multi-line phone system to answer, transfer and hold calls.
  • Monitor AHS email and other messaging software.

Other duties as assigned.

Additional Information Regarding Schedule and Attendance

  • Regular, predictable attendance, punctuality, and availability to work during operational hours.
  • Attend and participate in regular team meetings, all staff meetings, and one-on-one meetings with direct leader.
  • May be required to work at a different site based on department needs.
  • May be required to attend occasional off-site meetings and events.

Work Environment

  • Primarily office/desk based.
  • Adjacent animal shelter areas may be humid, noisy, or odorous.
