Andy Stewart is an accomplished engineer and technical leader with extensive experience in robotics, mechanical engineering, and program management. Currently serving as a Member of Technical Staff at Anthropic since February 2024, Andy has co-founded Olis Robotics and developed innovative methods for remotely operating robotic arms. Notable prior roles include Staff Technical Program Manager at Cruise, where Andy drove key initiatives in safety and machine learning, and a Senior Technical Program Manager position at Amazon focused on AI-enabled automation. Additionally, Andy has held academic positions as an Assistant Professor at the University of Washington's Mechanical Engineering department and has contributed to ocean engineering as Assistant Director at the Applied Physics Laboratory. Andy's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego.
