AORN
Nick Kaplan has over 15 years of experience in IT leadership and operations, currently serving as Senior IT Director for Operations and Information Security at AORN since August 2007. Kaplan’s career progression at AORN includes roles such as Senior IT Director, Operations, Director of IT Operations, IT Operations Manager, Senior Systems Administrator, and Network Administrator. Additionally, Kaplan contributed to community service as a board member for the Colorado Chapter of The Children's Heart Foundation from October 2016 to January 2020, which focuses on funding research for congenital heart defects. Previous experience includes positions as Systems Administrator at HEI from 2005 to 2007 and Systems Technician/Consultant at Analytics Computer Information Systems from July 2003 to August 2005. Kaplan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Technology from the University of Colorado Boulder, completed in 2003.
AORN
AORN is a non-profit membership association based in Denver, Colorado that represents the interests of more than 160,000 perioperative nurses by providing nursing education, standards, and clinical practice resources—including the peer-reviewed, monthly publication AORN Journal—to enable optimal outcomes for patients undergoing operative and other invasive procedures. AORN’s 42,000 registered nurse members manage, teach, and practice perioperative nursing, are enrolled in nursing education, or are engaged in perioperative research. We define and advance best nursing practices for surgical patients by researching and distributing scientifically based recommendations. Our Mission: Our mission is to promote safety and optimal outcomes for patients undergoing operative and other invasive procedures by providing practice support and professional development opportunities to perioperative nurses. AORN will collaborate with professional and regulatory organizations, industry leaders, and other health care partners who support the mission.
