Brett Cupit

Brett Cupit serves as the Assistant General Counsel at Apache Corporation since June 2004, managing legal transactional and pre-litigation matters for various domestic assets, including operations in the Gulf of Mexico, Delaware, and Permian Basins. Prior roles at Apache included Senior Counsel and Corporate Counsel, where Brett led M&A efforts and provided comprehensive legal support for operational activities. Previously, Brett held associate attorney positions at Haynes and Boone, LLP, and Gill & Shinn LLC, and began a career as a Reservoir Engineer at Shell, where responsibilities included reserve analyses and production optimization. Brett holds a Juris Doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.
