Ian Cinnamon has had a successful career in the technology industry. Ian began their career in 2012 as a User Experience and Engineering employee at Apple. In 2013, they founded superlabs, a consumer product company, and was later acquired by Zynga, where they served as Director of Product and Technology Advisor to the Chairman. In 2014, Ian was the Director of Strategy at Immunity Project. In 2016, they founded Synapse Technology Corporation, which was backed by Village Global, Founders Fund, 8VC, and IQT. Synapse was acquired by Palantir Technologies in 2020, where Ian served as Business Development and Artificial Intelligence. In 2021, they joined Village Global as an Investor and Entrepreneur in Residence. Ian currently serves as Founder and CEO of Apex, a company that manufactures satellite buses at scale.
Ian Cinnamon attended Harvard-Westlake School for their high school education. Ian then went on to Massachusetts Institute of Technology where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Course 9: Brain and Cognitive Science. After that, they attended Stanford University Graduate School of Business and obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.). Lastly, they have been attending Y Combinator.

Spacecraft represent the most pressing need across the entire aerospace industry. As more launch vehicles come online and the cost to orbit decreases, more companies launching payloads to space continue to emerge. For the first time in history, this influx of payload companies combined with reduced launch costs has resulted in a massive increase in need for commercial spacecraft platforms, known as satellite buses. These buses hold the payloads of our customers and are flown on launch vehicles. Apex manufactures these satellite buses as scale using a combination of software, vertical integration, and hardware that is designed for manufacturing. Their spacecraft enable the future of society: ranging from earth observation to communications and more.
