Shamitha Somashekar

Shamitha Somashekar is a highly experienced professional with a strong background in product and program management, specializing in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Currently serving as Head of Product & Program Management at Apple since April 2017, Shamitha leads multiple teams focused on ML strategy and innovation, including significant contributions to areas like Health AI and Generative AI. Prior to Apple, Shamitha held key roles at Amazon, including Principal Product Manager for Alexa, where foundational product vision and strategy were developed. Shamitha's career began at Nuance Communications, where a wide range of leadership positions was undertaken, including driving product management for innovative NLU and Q&A products. Education includes an MBA from The Wharton School, a PhD from Cornell University, and a Master of Technology in Information Systems from Stanford University.
