Sumika Kawamura

Sumika Kawamura has extensive experience in regulatory compliance and global trade, currently serving as an Export Compliance Analyst at Apple since December 2024. Prior roles include Global Trade Consultant at Meta from November 2018 to May 2023, where responsibilities involved managing import/export processes for high-tech items and ensuring compliance through collaboration with various stakeholders. Sumika also worked as a Global Trade Consultant for FedEx in April 2018, focusing on Japanese import requirements, and held the position of Sr. Global Trade Analyst and Project Manager at Aptean/TradeBeam from December 2005 to February 2015, where trade regulation updates were successfully conducted. Additionally, Sumika has freelanced as an interpreter/translator between Japanese and English since January 2016. Educational qualifications include a BA in International Relations from San Francisco State University and an AA in Liberal Arts with a focus on English from Seattle Central College.
