Tommy Ive has extensive experience in the field of semiconductor physics and epitaxy. Currently serving as a Technical Program Manager for VCSEL epitaxy and devices at Apple since February 2019, Tommy previously held the position of InGaN Epitaxy Team Lead at Lumileds, where responsibilities included developing and troubleshooting MOCVD epitaxy processes for various LED technologies. As an Associate Professor at Chalmers University of Technology, Tommy led research on plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy, focusing on nitride and oxide semiconductors. Tommy's background also includes roles as a Senior Scientist at Uriel Solar Inc. and a Project Scientist at the University of California, with an emphasis on MBE growth and characterization of advanced materials. Educational qualifications include a Docent in Semiconductor Physics from Chalmers University and a PhD from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
