Gemma McGuill began their work experience in 2006 as the Head of Customer Service and Change at Britannia International. Gemma then transitioned to the role of Business Support Manager: People and Culture before leaving in 2012. In 2013, they joined the Isle of Man Government as a Learning Manager, where they worked until 2016. From 2016 to the present, Gemma has been at Appleby, starting as the Head of Learning and Development and currently serving as the Business Lead for Global Initiatives.
Gemma McGuill obtained a Master's Degree in Japanese Studies from SOAS University of London in 2000. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with a specialization in Law and Japanese Studies at the University of Leeds from 1995 to 1999. Gemma also holds additional certifications in Agile Software Development, Developing a Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Program, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, and Diversity and Inclusion in a Global Enterprise, all obtained in 2021. Additionally, Gemma McGuill has an ILM Level 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching and Mentoring.
