Applied Physics
Edward Rietman is an experienced research scientist with a diverse background in applied physics, theoretical biology, and systems biology. Currently serving as a Research Scientist at Applied Physics since January 2022, Rietman has also held positions as a Research Associate at the Computer Science Department of the University of Massachusetts and a Consulting Scientist at Small Technology Incubator. Previous roles include Physical Scientist at the Artificial Intelligence Research Group and Visiting Scientist at Tufts Medical Center. Rietman’s research has focused on topics such as ultrasonic induced optical space singularities, drug discovery, cancer pathway analysis, and the application of machine learning in biological systems. Rietman holds a PhD in Physics from Eurotechnical Research University, a Graduate Certificate in Bioinformatics from Northeastern University, an MS in Materials Science from Stevens Institute of Technology, and a BS in Physics and Chemistry from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
