Ziyad Akrouk is the current Head of Group Risk at Arab Bank. Ziyad has previously served as CEO for Citibank Kuwait and Citibank Jordan. Ziyad has also been a Regional Risk Manager and Senior Credit Officer for Citi Egypt.
During their time as CEO for Citibank Kuwait, Ziyad played a significant role in restoring and strengthening Citibank’s relationships with key institutional clients post 2008 financial crisis.
As CEO of Citibank Jordan, Ziyad managed and maintained a revenue and net income growth of 100% over the period 2005-09. Some of the landmark transactions they were involved in included advising and leading Royal Jordanian’s IPO, advising the Jordanian Government on its Paris Club debt buyback and advising Jordan Petroleum on attracting a strategic investor.
Ziyad Akrouk has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Syracuse University and a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Leeds.
