Lauren Alfonse has a diverse work experience spanning multiple fields. Lauren currently serves as a Principal Scientist (Project Lead) at Arbor Biotechnologies, where they lead a cross-platform project on CRISPR nuclease discovery and target screening. Prior to this role, they held positions as an Associate Scientific Manager and an Associate Scientist at the same company, where they diversified the screening platform and led screening teams. Before joining Arbor Biotechnologies, Lauren worked as a Research Associate at the company and as an Independent Forensic DNA Consultant. Lauren also has experience working at Boston University School of Medicine as a Research Study Assistant and a Graduate Research Assistant.
Lauren Alfonse obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Islamic Civilization and Societies from Boston College in 2013. Lauren then pursued a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Forensic Sciences at Boston University School of Medicine from 2013 to 2015.
