Samir Farooq

Samir Farooq has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Samir'smost recent position was as the Principal Data Scientist at Arcadia, where they provided strategic leadership in data science, people management, and business alignment. Samir was responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of Arcadia's data science platform. Prior to this role, they worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Arcadia.

Before joining Arcadia, Samir worked at the University of Rochester Medical Center as a Data Scientist, where they used machine learning and statistical tools to extract knowledge from healthcare data. Samir also managed, organized, and cleaned healthcare data using SQL and provided insightful visualizations of the data.

Samir also has experience in education, having served as a Mathematics Tutor and Teacher's Assistant at SUNY Geneseo. In these roles, they evaluated and graded assignments, developed teaching materials, and worked one-on-one with students to acclimate them to programming languages. Samir also conducted research and provided recommendations on online training materials for Matlab. Additionally, Samir worked as an Assistant Librarian at SUNY Geneseo.

Samir Farooq completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics with a second major in Biochemistry from SUNY Geneseo in 2015. Samir then pursued a Master of Science degree in Data Science from the University of Rochester from 2015 to 2016.
