Lucas Jonasch

Lucas Jonasch is a seasoned engineer with notable experience in test engineering and mechanical design. Currently serving as the Lead Test Engineer - Battery Abuse at Archer since November 2023, Lucas previously worked at Tesla as a Test Engineer focusing on factory and cell abuse, where deep analysis of failure modes and heat transfer experiments were conducted. Prior experience includes a Design Engineer role at Nissan Motor Corporation, collaborating with suppliers on wheel and tire designs, and a Mechanical Engineer Researcher position at UCSD Advanced Robotics and Controls Lab, where mechanical robotic components were designed and built. Lucas co-founded Remora and held a Mechanical Engineering Internship at Formlabs, applying fault-tree analysis to address issues in 3D printer assembly. Leadership experience includes serving as Mechanical Design Lead at Yonder Dynamics, managing a team of 50 on complex mechanical systems. Lucas is a UC San Diego alumnus with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
