Senior Project Manager, Architect at Architect of the Capitol

Scott Walzak, Assoc. AIA, LEED AP, SEED, currently serves as a Senior Project Manager and Architect at the Architect of the Capitol since January 2022. Walzak has been a Commissioner for the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park Commission since August 2016, advising on policies related to the park's administration and development. Previously, Walzak held the role of Director of Planning & Project Management at Georgetown Heritage, where significant contributions were made to the Georgetown Canal Plan. Other experiences include serving as Strategic Director at Engenium Group and Executive Director at MakeDC, a non-profit designed to provide pro-bono design services for underserved communities. Additionally, Walzak has experience in academia as an Associate Professor at The Catholic University of America, and worked as a Design Professional and Intern at HOK, where notable projects included award-winning designs and contributions to major architectural works. Walzak holds a Master of Architecture from Roger Williams University.
