Dean Thornton is a seasoned professional in urban design and planning, currently serving as Principal and National Sector Leader at Architectus since August 2018. With extensive experience in leadership roles, Dean has been instrumental in managing operational aspects, financial performance, and design consistency within the Urban Design and Planning sector. In addition to this role, Dean has contributed to urban design initiatives as a member of the Victorian Design Review Panel since March 2014. Previous positions include Principal Urban Design Leader at Jacobs and Senior Urban Designer at Development Victoria. Dean's career began as a Landscape Architect at John Patrick Landscape Architects, followed by significant tenures at HASSELL and Meinhardt Group. Dean holds a Bachelor of Planning and Design with Honours, as well as a Master of Landscape Architecture, from the University of Melbourne.
