Ariadne Labs
Jeff Brown is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in healthcare quality improvement and safety. Currently serving as Principal at System Safety Group LLC/Safer Healthcare, LLC, Jeff focuses on enhancing health outcomes in rural communities through collaborative systems-based initiatives. In addition, Jeff holds positions as Associate Faculty at Ariadne Labs and previously advised on learning health systems at Penobscot Community Health Care. Prior roles include Director of Continuous Quality Improvement at Maine Primary Care Association and Senior Cognitive Scientist at Applied Research Associates, where Jeff specialized in human performance in safety-critical environments. Jeff's academic background includes faculty positions at Daniel Webster College and Hawthorne College, along with technical roles at the University of Maine. Jeff holds a Master of Education in Science Education and a Bachelor of Science in Science Education from the University of Maine, complemented by a diploma in Marine Science from Southern Maine Technical College and various flight training credentials.

Ariadne Labs is a joint center for health systems innovation at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health. Our mission is to build and support a community of researchers who create and drive scalable solutions that produce better care at the most critical moments in people's lives everywhere. We are named for Ariadne, the Greek goddess who showed the way out of the Minotaur's labyrinth with a simple thread - for we are trying to provide simple solutions to navigating the maze of healthcare complexity.
