Thomas Schmitt is an experienced professional in the aerospace and electronics sectors, currently serving as the Head of Electric Propulsion at ArianeGroup since June 2022, where the focus is on transforming the electric propulsion business line to establish market leadership in orbital products and services. Prior to this role, Schmitt held various positions at HS Elektronik Systeme GmbH from April 2011 to June 2022, including Head of Quality & EH&S, and Technical Lead Engineer & Project Manager, where responsibilities encompassed quality management systems and multi-project management for complex avionics. Additionally, Schmitt has a strong background in circuit design and engineering, having managed teams and contributed to the development of electrical power distribution subsystems for multiple aircraft programs. Schmitt holds a Diplom-Ingenieur degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Technology from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg.
