Structures Engineer - Competition Team '23

What is STRUCTURES?

The structures team is responsible for designing the airframe and all load baring structures of the rocket. This is the overarching system that connects all the other subsystems of the rocket.

What is the Competition Team?

The competition team is the main point of entry for prospective engineers at ARIS. This team has one year to build a sounding rocket using all the knowledge within the association and launch it at the European Rocketry Challenge. In this team, you'll learn all the basics of rocketry as you go through the industry standard design process as done in NASA. You'll plan and conduct tests of individual components, integrate them into the system and train procedures to finally be ready for launch day.

Your tasks:

• Design structural components of a sounding rocket
• Perform structural analysis of your parts
• Coordinate with you sub-team and the entire team to ensure successful integration
• Manufacture large parts of the rocket
