John McCool is responsible for Arista's platforms including hardware, engineering, system test, customer and manufacturing operations. John brings over 30 years of executive and networking experience, including recent roles as Senior Vice President and General Manager at EMC, CEO of Firetide and 17 years at Cisco systems in engineering management. He joined Cisco in 1996 via the acquisition of Granite Systems, rising to Senior Vice President and General Manager of Datacenter switching and services. John has held key engineering roles at SynOptics, NeXT Computer, and Advanced Micro Devices. He holds several patents related to network technologies.
John holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University and an M.S. in Computer Engineering from Santa Clara University.
