Matthew Johnson

Matthew Johnson, CPA, is an experienced finance professional currently serving as CFO and VP of Finance at the Arizona Humane Society since April 2019, where responsibilities include overseeing finance, purchasing, technology, and facilities, as well as leading the construction of a new state-of-the-art animal shelter. Prior to this role, Matthew worked at PetSmart from July 2008 to April 2019, first as Services Strategy Manager focusing on marketing and strategic pricing for grooming and pet training, and previously as Senior Financial Analyst collaborating with Store Operations on budgeted projects and variance analyses. Earlier in Matthew's career, an Audit Associate position was held at KPMG, conducting integrated audits for public companies across various industries. Matthew holds a BS in Accounting from Brigham Young University and is pursuing a Certificate in Nonprofit Executive Leadership from Arizona State University.
