Shannon Flanagan-Watson is the Interim Economic Developmnet Director at Arlington Economic Development. Shannon has over 25 years of experience in economic development and community revitalization.

Shannon began their career in economic development as a Program Assistant at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments. Shannon quickly rose through the ranks and became the Director of Business Development at the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).

In 2005, Shannon returned to their roots and took a position with Arlington County. Shannon has been with Arlington Economic Development for the past 15 years and has been instrumental in making it one of the most successful economic development organizations in the country.

Shannon Flanagan-Watson earned their Master of Public Administration from Syracuse University and their Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University at Buffalo.

Some direct reports include Josh Stoltzfus - Deputy Director, Cultural Development, Marc McCauley - Director, Real Estate Development, and Marian Marquez - Acting Deputy Director.
