George Naclerio

George Naclerio, Ph.D., currently serves as a Sr. Scientist II in Discovery Chemistry at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, a position held since December 2021, and previously held the role of Sr. Scientist I in the same department. In this capacity, George leads projects focused on various siRNA therapeutic programs, collaborating with internal teams to support clinical candidate nominations and guiding a team of PhD scientists. George's expertise includes the development and synthesis of targeted small molecules, lipids, and peptides for novel siRNA delivery platforms, as well as optimizing oligonucleotide siRNA triggers for enhanced potency and reduced off-target effects. Prior to this, George gained valuable experience at Purdue University as a Graduate Student Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant, and at King Industries as a Quality Control Chemist. George earned a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Purdue University and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry with a Mathematics minor from Fairfield University.
