Bethany Mason

Bethany South is a Senior Scientist I at Artios since August 2021, with a focus on investigating the role of an F-box protein in DNA damage repair utilizing confocal microscopy, molecular biology, and biochemistry techniques. Previous experience includes a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, where research centered on DNA damage repair mechanisms, and a PhD at the University of Cambridge exploring let-7 microRNAs in macrophage activation related to diabetic wound healing. Earlier roles include a Research Scientist position at Københavns Universitet, conducting high-throughput genetic screens, and tutoring at The Tutor Trust, where responsibilities included planning and adapting lessons in mathematics for primary school students. Bethany holds a PhD in Pathology/Experimental Pathology from the University of Cambridge and an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences from The University of Manchester.
