Richard de Cani serves as the Chief Officer for Global Business and Markets at Arup since May 2016, also leading the Global Cities, Planning & Design sector and holding a board position for the UKIMEA Region. With extensive experience in planning and transport, Richard oversees the Global Planning Business and collaborates with teams across multiple regions, supporting a diverse array of city and transport projects. Prior to Arup, Richard held various senior roles at Transport for London from 1998 to 2016, culminating in the position of Director and Managing Director of Planning. Additional experience includes working as Joint Initiatives Manager at The Princes Foundation for the Built Environment and as a Transportation Planner at Ove Arup & Partners. Richard holds a BA Hons in Town and Country Planning and a Master of Science in Transport Engineering & Operations from Newcastle University.
