Felix Matenaar

Felix Matenaar is a seasoned software engineering leader specializing in security, currently serving as a Senior Software Engineering Manager in R&D Security at Asana since June 2022. Felix has a proven track record in enhancing product, infrastructure, and data security, with achievements including the reorganization of security engineering for greater efficiency and leading a successful security design review program. Prior roles include managing a software engineering team at Block, where Felix improved the reliability of payments systems, and technical leadership at Google, where innovations like "Policy Intelligence" were developed. Felix's extensive experience is complemented by contributions as a program reviewer for BSidesSF and earlier roles at various tech companies, including the successful establishment of security protocols during the early days at Yik Yak and the development of secure solutions at Vera Security and Bluebox Security. Felix holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from RWTH Aachen University.
